Hãy đăng ký tham dự hội thảo về xây dựng hệ thống đo lường dùng phần cứng CompactDAQ, phần mềm LabVIEW NXG và phần mềm thu thập dữ liệu FlexLogger. Hội thảo sẽ hướng dẫn quý vị cách xây dựng một hệ thống đo lường với nhiều loại cảm biến, và cách lập trình với LabVIEW NXG để thu thập, phân tích và hiển thị dữ liệu đo được. Nếu quý vị chưa có kinh nghiệm lập trình, hội thảo sẽ hướng dẫn quý vị cách dùng FlexLogger, phần mềm để thu thập và hiển thị dữ liệu đo lường không yêu cầu lập trình.

Đăng ký và tham dự hội thảo sử dụng NI CompactDAQ, LabVIEW NXG và FlexLogger nhằm: 

  • Hiểu được các bước quan trọng để cấu hình hệ thống đo lường
  • Xây dựng một hệ thống đo lường dùng nhiều loại cảm biến như nhiệt độ, lực, âm thanh, rung động, ánh sáng.
  • Tìm hiểu cách thu thập và hiển thị dữ liệu đo lường không cần lập trình, dùng phần mềm FlexLogger

Training Workshop on “Advanced Technologies for 5G and Beyond”

High-Spectral Efficiency Communications: Fundamentals to Advanced Technologies for 5G and Beyond

A. Introduction
Over the last four decades, mobile communications has continued to grow at a marvelous rate from the 1st generation (1G) to the 4th generation (4G) with significant contributions and impacts to the global economy development. The next mobile communications generations (5G & beyond) will facilitate the development of countries toward a smart society model based on internet-of-things (IoT) infrastrutures. In many developed countries, universities and enterprises have been establishing productive research collaborations to develop 5G technologies for their commercialization by 2020. In Vietnam, research collaborations between universities and enterprises in the area of mobile communications are still limited.
To develop productive research collaboration networks of universities and enterprises in communications industry, the University of Danang invited internationally prestigious experts to conduct (i) training workshops on advanced technologies of future mobile communications and (ii) the development of advanced techniques for next mobile communications generations. In May 2018, the University of Danang and invited prestigious experts organize a training workshop with the following agenda.

C. Lecturer Biography
Prof. Pierre Duhamel
Pierre Duhamel (Fellow, IEEE, 1998, Fellow, Eurasip, 2008, Grand Prix France Télécom of the French Science Academy, 2000) received the Eng. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) Rennes, France in 1975, the Dr. Eng. Degree in 1978, and the Doctorat ès sciences degree in 1986, both from Orsay University, Orsay, France.
From 1975 to 1980, he was with Thomson-CSF (now Thales), Paris, France, where his research interests were in circuit theory and signal processing. In 1980, he joined the National Research Center in Telecommunications (CNET, now Orange Labs), Issy les Moulineaux, France, where his research activities were mainly concerned with the design of recursive CCD filters. Later, he worked on fast algorithms for computing various signal processing functions (FFT’s, convolutions, adaptive filtering, wavelets). From 1993 to Sept. 2000, he has been professor at ENST, Paris (National School of Engineering in Telecommunications) with research activities focused on Signal processing for Communications. He was head of the Signal and Image Processing Department from 1997 to 2000. He is now with CNRS/L2S (Laboratoire de Signaux et Systemes, Gif sur Yvette, France), where he developed studies in Signal processing for communications (including equalization, iterative decoding, multicarrier systems, cooperation) and signal/image processing for multimedia applications, including joint source-protocol-channel coding. He is currently investigating the connections between communication theory and networking.
He was Distinguished lecturer, IEEE, for 1999, and was co-technical chair of ICASSP 06, Toulouse, France, and of WCNC 2012, Paris, France. The paper on subspace-based methods for blind equalization, which he coauthored, received the “Best paper award” from the IEEE transactions on SP in 1998. He was awarded the “Grand Prix France Telecom” by the French Science Academy in 2000. Dr. Duhamel published 97 papers in international journals, more than 300 papers in international conferences, and holds 29 patents. He is a co-author of the book “Joint Source and Channel Decoding: A cross layer perspective with applications in video broadcasting” which appeared in 2009, Academic Press. He successfully advised or co-advised 58 PhD students, two of them being now Fellow, IEEE.

Prof. Nghi H. Tran
Nghi H. Tran received the B.Eng. degree from Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam in 2002, the M.Sc. degree (with Graduate Thesis Award) and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 2004 and 2008, respectively, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering. From May 2008 to July 2010, he was at McGill University as a Postdoctoral Scholar under the prestigious Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Postdoctoral Fellowship. From August 2010 to July 2011, Dr. Tran was at McGill University as a Research Associate. He also worked as a Consultant in the satellite industry. Dr. Tran joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Akron, OH, USA in 2011 as an Assistant Professor, and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor (with tenure) in 2017. Dr. Tran’s research interests span the areas of signal processing and communication and information theories for wireless systems and networks. Dr. Tran is currently an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications, an Editor for IEEE Communications Letters (with 2018 Editor Award), an Editor for Elsevier Physical Communication, and a Lead Guest Editor for EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, Special Issue on Full-Duplex Radio: Theory, Design, and Applications. Dr. Tran has been serving as a TPC member for a number of flagship IEEE conferences. He was a TPC co-Chair of the Workshop on Trusted Communications with Physical Layer Security for IEEE GLOBECOM 2014, a Publicity Chair of the Workshop on Full-Duplex Communications for Future Wireless Networks for IEEE ICC 2017, a Publicity Chair of the Second Workshop on Full-Duplex Communications for IEEE Globecom 2017, and a Publicity Chair of the Third Workshop

The International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE) is becoming a reputable bi-annual international conference series in the scientific community on the areas of Electronics and Communications recently. Following the past successful IEEE ICCE 2016, which received over 250 submissions from 30 countries with the acceptance rate of 32%, the seventh ICCE (IEEE ICCE 2018) looks for significant contributions to various topics in communications engineering, networking, microwave engineering, signal processing, and electronic engineering. The conference will also include tutorials, workshops, and technology panels given by world-class speakers.

The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

[NCKH] Thông báo Vv Đăng ký đề tài NCKH cấp Sinh viên năm 2018

Căn cứ vào hoạt động khoa học công nghệ hằng năm của Học viện, Học viện cơ sở tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh tiến hành triển khai kế hoạch NCKH của Sinh viên năm 2018, vậy đề nghị các Khoa trực thuộc:

1. Đăng ký các đề tài NCKH của Sinh viên năm 2018 của khoa:

– Thông báo cho sinh viên Học viện cơ sở và giáo viên hướng dẫn đăng ký các đề tài NCKH SV.

– Tổ chức cho Hội đồng khoa học và Đào tạo khoa thẩm định và xét duyệt các đề tài NCKH SV đã đăng ký và đưa vào đăng ký kế hoạch NCKH SV năm 2018 của khoa

2. Gửi bản tổng hợp đăng ký kế hoạch NCKH cấp Sinh viên năm 2018 (kèm theo biên bản xét duyệt)

The Next Generations of Mobile Communications:
Advanced Technologies and Research Collaboration Networking

A. Introduction
Over the last four decades, mobile communications has continued to grow at a marvelous rate from the 1st generation (1G) to the 4th generation (4G) with significant contributions and impacts to the global economy development. The next mobile communications generations (5G and beyond) will facilitate the development of countries toward a smart society model based on internet of things (IoT) infrastrutures. In many developed countries, research organizations/universities and enterprises have been establishing numerous effective R&D collaborations to develop 5G technologies for their commercialization by 2020. In Vietnam, collaborations between universities and enterprises in the area of mobile communications are still limited.
To develop productive collaboration networks of overseas and domestic universities/enterprises in mobile communications industry, the University of Danang invited internationally prestigious experts in communications industry to (i) conduct training workshops on advanced technologies of future mobile communications and (ii) develop R&D collaboration networks. In particular, the University of Danang and invited prestigious experts organize four training workshops with the following agenda.

C. Expert Biography
Prof. Tho Le-Ngoc


Tho Le-Ngoc obtained his B.Eng. (with Distinction) in Electrical Engineering in 1976, his M.Eng. in Microprocessor Applications in 1978 from McGill University, Montreal, and his Ph.D. in Digital Communications 1983 from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
During 1977-1982, he was with Spar Aerospace Limited as a Design Engineer and then a Senior Design Engineer, involved in the development and design of the microprocessor-based controller of Canadarm (of the Space Shuttle), and SCPC/FM, SCPC/PSK, TDMA satellite communications systems.
During 1982-1985, he was an Engineering Manager of the Radio Group in the Department of Development Engineering of SRTelecom Inc., developed the new point-to-multipoint DA-TDMA/TDM Subscriber Radio System SR500. He was the System Architect of this first digital point-to-multipoint wireless TDMA system.
During 1985-2000, he was a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Concordia University. Since 2000, he has been a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of McGill University. His research interest is in the area of broadband access communications.
Since 2004, he has been Scientific Director of the Center for Advanced Systems and Technologies in Communications (SYTACom), including 5 universities in Quebec.
He is a Senior Member of the Ordre des Ingénieur du Quebec, a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), the Canadian Academy of Engineering
(CAE), and the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).
He is a recipient of the 2004 Canadian Award in Telecommunications Research, the IEEE Canada Fessenden Award 2005, the 2013 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the 2014 Award for Best Collaboration with Huawei Wireless.
He holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier I) on Broadband Access Communications.
He is a theme leader and/or project leader in three interdisciplinary NSERC Strategic Research Networks: Healthcare Support through Information Technology Enhancement (hSITE), NSERC Smart Microgrid Network (NSMG-Net), and Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure (SAVI).
Since 1985, he has been a consultant, Technical Advisor, Chief Architect, Chief Scientist to several companies in communications.

Prof. Duy Trong Ngo


Duy Trong Ngo received the B.Eng. (with First-class Honours and University Medal) degree in telecommunication engineering from The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 2007, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering (communication) from University of Alberta, Canada in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from McGill University, Canada in 2013.
Dr. Ngo is currently a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor in the U.S. and Canada) with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computing, The University of Newcastle, Australia. He leads a research team that works on some most active areas of the fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks, including cloud radio access networks, mobile edge computing, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications for intelligent transportation systems.
In 2007, he was an awarded the University Medal in Telecommunications – the highest honour bestowed upon an undergraduate by The University of New South Wales. In 2013, he was awarded two prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowships by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Fonds de recherche du Quebec – Nature et technologies. At The University of Newcastle, he received the 2015 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Research and Innovation Excellence, the 2015 Pro Vice-Chancellor's Award for Research Excellence, and the 2017 Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment.

Abstract: Enabling wireless transceivers to operate in full-duplex (FD) fashion, by simultaneously transmitting and receiving over the same frequency band, offers the potential to double their transmission rate or spectral efficiency, as compared to currently used half-duplex (HD) transmission mode. When simultaneously transmitting and receiving, the transceiver experiences co-channel interference from its own transmitter, known as self-interference (SI). This SI is usually several orders of magnitude higher than the intended signal, transmitted by the other transceiver, as the later signal crosses longer distance than the SI. Given that the transmitted SI is known, one may directly use it to remove the SI from the received signal. However, the propagation channel and the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) impairments affect the received SI making it different from the known transmitted signal. A good self-interference (SI) cancellation strategy in full-duplex (FD) communication passes first by a proper understanding of the nature of this SI. The SI can be gradually reduced by a combination of radio-frequency (RF) and baseband cancellation stages. Each stage requires the estimation of the different distortions that the SI endures such as the SI channel and the transceiver nonlinearities.

This talk will start with the SI-channel characteristics, and then continue with the various SI-cancellation aspects: strategies, limiting factors, and techniques, and end with potential FD applications.

I will try to convince you to take up the “PhD Challenge” at The University of Newcastle. I will then introduce the scholarship process and opportunities at Newcastle. I will conclude the talk with some newest research results of my telecommunications group on Cloud Radio Access Networks.
